DeSantis euthanizes his dying campaign while Trump lays waste to the field (and the party) and Haley’s hopes vanish

The Dems keep their powder dry as they watch the GOP hurtle toward extinction.

I learned of the DeSantis exit from the Republican presidential candidate field while watching the NFL playoffs. The news, however, was hardly surprising since I learned of his poor fit as a candidate over the summer, while at lunch with a friend who’s met and interacted with the Florida governor.

“He’s about as uninspiring a candidate as I’ve ever met,” said my friend, who has been involved in Republican politics at the state and national level for decades. “You look at him and you think ‘This guy doesn’t have it.’”
